Music Production
We are thrilled to launch our brand-new Music Production course at Trafford Music Service! The course is designed for beginners, and the ability to play an instrument is by no means essential. We begin with an exploration of music production, delving into composition, loops, and editing with the goal of producing our own pop songs. All sessions take place on our state-of-the-art suite of iPads, complete with headphones.
After completing the initial project, students further develop their technical skills as each course segment embraces a specific musical theme each half term. Examples of themed projects include music for film, music for games, podcast music & jingles, live looping, sampling, and recording live instruments. For KS3 students, there’s an additional focus on specific techniques, allowing for more autonomy over projects, including improvisation, exporting & sharing, equalization, and compression.
While this course doesn’t culminate in a live performance like our other ensembles, completed projects are shared with parents. Additionally, students have opportunities to collaborate remotely with their peers by using browser-based software from the comfort of their homes between sessions.
The course will take place on a Monday evening at the Claremont Centre in Sale. (Please note there will be no session on Monday 4th March 2024 and you will not be charged for this session – charge per session can be found on our Price List page).
