Trafford Rock & Pop Academy

At Trafford Rock and Pop Academy we offer the opportunity for pupils of all musical abilities to come together and develop their instrumental skills within a band setting.

Have you ever wanted to form a band in school or with friends and not been sure how to go about it? Have you ever watched your favourite band or singer on TV and wondered how you could learn to perform like them one day? Then come along to our Rock and Pop Academy!

Wednesdays at The Claremont Centre.

Rock 1: 4.00pm – 4.45pm

Rock 2: 4.45pm – 5.30pm

Rock 3: 5.30pm – 6.15pm

Rock 4: 6.15pm – 7.00pm

Suitable for Y3 upwards. Our Rock Academy leaders will group students into the above slots based on a number of factors such as age, instrument, and ability.

Throughout the course, pupils will develop basic performance skills and musicality on the following instruments: guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, drum kit and vocals within a band setting. By term three, pupils will be encouraged to choose an instrument that they want to develop further and take their playing to a more advanced level. In addition to learning songs across various genres pupils will be given the opportunity to compose their own songs by completing a blues and popular songwriting module. Pupils will perform at a minimum of two Trafford Music Service events during the academic year.
