Taught by specialist, highly experienced teachers, pupils have lessons on a range of instruments including:
In addition, all the children in Year 5 have been learning the trumpet, as part of the service’s Wider Opportunities projects. The project is part of the service’s belief and vision that all Trafford children have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument.

Headteacher Kirsten Warren commented:
“At Willows, we value music education, and it’s an essential part of our learning and school life. It is wonderful that we can make full use of the expert teachers that Trafford Music Service provides, and it’s a joy for me to hear such lovely sounds as I walk from classroom to classroom. Our young people really benefit from all the many skills that music education provides.”
Head of Trafford Music Service Ruth O’Keefe commented:
“We’re thrilled to have so many children being musical at Willows Primary School. The teaching staff are doing an amazing job encouraging their pupils to receive the lifelong skills and sheer delight of playing a musical instrument.
It’s our aim to get as many young people as possible to have some form of expert music education in Trafford, whether it’s through schools or at our base at The Claremont Centre in Sale town centre.”
