Currently at St Monica’s Primary School we are offering the below instrumental lessons.
|Instrument||Recommended Age Range|
|Ukulele/Violin/Viola||Year 2 upwards|
|Keyboard/Drum Kit||Year 2 upwards|
|Guitar**||Year 3 upwards|
Drum Kit lessons – only available as individual lessons (there is only one drum kit in school).
Keyboard lessons – available as individual or paired (not group).
Guitar – for students in year 3, once a place is confirmed it is recommended to purchase a half size acoustic guitar with nylon strings. The music service only stocks 3/4 size guitars for hire which is usually advised as suitable for year 3 upwards. We don’t recommend hiring guitars beyond one term due to the relatively low purchase cost.
We offer group, paired and individual lessons at the school dependent on the instrument (see above). Where a group lesson is unable to take place due to lack of applications we may be in touch to offer you alternative lesson proposals.
